Exhibitions

Since the inauguration of Casa Museo Tequendama, we have worked to regularly present new exhibitions that allow visitors to learn about Colombian nature, its history, threats, and conservation efforts.

Our goal is to position this space as a great educational platform for biodiversity and culture.

The Tequendama: a Myth that Traverses Generations

The Salto de Tequendama is an ancestral and magical place, deeply linked to the myth of Bochica, its creator, according to Muisca culture. Although the myth has endured through the narratives of colonizers, it has been distorted by colonial biases and a changing society. The site has suffered deterioration due to accelerated and poorly planned development. Its sacred, cultural, and ecological value has been forgotten. However, in recent years, the GEP Foundation and local community members have taken steps to protect the area and promote civic awareness. This exhibition invites you to reconnect with the roots of this special site, exploring the stories that have shaped this space and our relationship with our territory.

Letters in Sight

Letters in Sight Library: a project that provides the museum's audiences with an open, multigenerational space for reading and literary creation, promoting true cultural immersion during the visit. The collection includes classical and contemporary literature, as well as texts for all audiences, selected to connect the reader with the cultural, natural, and symbolic values of the Salto del Tequendama and its Casa Museo.
