Help us cope with the covid-19 crisis

In order to prevent the spread of covid-19, we suspended all our activities at the Tequendama House Museum and at the El Porvenir Farm and Natural Reserve from Monday, March 18 of this year. Since our research and conservation projects, and the support of the families that collaborate with us, depend entirely on these activities, we need your support today more than ever.

This is the first time that we face a crisis like this. The future seems uncertain, but we believe in our dreams and in the solidarity of those who trust in our work.

Below we explain why we need your financial support and how we are going to invest your donations. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to contact us.

How will the donations be invested?
  1. Cover the basic needs of the staff at the Tequendama House Museum and at the el Porvenir Farm and Natural Reserve and their families.
  2. Maintain the permanent jobs of the people who are part of the project.
  3. Cover the operation expenses of the Tequendama House Museum and the El Porvenir Farm and Natural Reserve (food and animal care, utility payment, etc.).

How much is needed?
We hope to be able to resume our activities very soon. However, we estimate that our revenue stream will freeze over the next three months (starting April 20). To continue covering basic expenses and keep our workers' jobs during these months, we need about COP$32,000,000 Colombian pesos (COP). With this amount, we ensure each month:
  1. Groceries supply for the 12 families that work with us
  2. Food for the animals of El Porvenir Farm and Natural Reserve
  3. Surveillance of the Tequendama House Museum
  4. Water and Electricity services for our facilities
  5. Keeping the permanent jobs of the people who work in our projects
  6. Social security of our workers
In the following table, we explain everything in more detail:

What is the foundation's commitment?
  1. At the end of the crowd-funding period, we will publish a report on the donations received.
  2. Through our social media (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram), we will publish evidence of the investment of resources (photos, videos, etc.).
  3. If you wish, the GEP Foundation will send you a certificate of your donation. You just have to send us an email with your name, ID, and the date you donated to proyectos@casamuseotequendama.org with the subject Donation Certificate.

When will the crowd funding end?
The crowd funding will be active during the official containment period of the covid-19 in Colombia.

Who will manage this money?
We will manage your donations directly and will be in charge of covering the mentioned expenses, in accordance with the contributions received. All donations will be managed through the bank accounts of the GEP Foundation.

Who is in charge of auditing the expenses?
The main legal representative and the alternate legal representative, under the supervision of the fiscal audit of the GEP Foundation and its accounting department. All our annual tax information is reviewed by the Colombian National Tax and Customs Directorate (DIAN) and the Government of Cundinamarca, who act as our control entities.
