The recovery of a region that brings together the history of our country, its culture and biodiversity, is our commitment to a better environmental future for Colombia.
In 1994, we took up the challenge of recovering the cloud forest surrounding the Tequendama Falls. Since then, we have received the support of several people and organizations that share our values and believe in our efforts to rescue from oblivion the memory of this region.
Today, we continue to believe that the Tequendama Falls will be free, clean, and surrounded by a healthy ecosystem.
Below we summarize some of the most important milestones in our history.

Below we summarize some of the most important milestones in our history.
2010 We led the organization of the International Forum on the Bogotá River with the participation of representatives of the Seine-Normandy Water Agency, the Medellín River, the Secretary of Education of Bogotá, and the Cundinamarca State Council and Tribunal. The book Biografía del Salto de Tequendama (Engl. "Biography of the Salto de Tequendama") was published with the support of Santiago Díaz Piedrahita. |
2013
Thanks to the support of the European Union, the French Development Agency (AFD) and the French Embassy in Colombia through the Latin America Investment Facility, the restoration works of the old construction next to the Tequendama Falls began. The project aimed to turn the former train station into the Tequendama House Museum. |
2016 The restoration works at the Tequendama House Museum were concluded and the results presented to the international delegation that donated the financial resources. All the spaces of museum were finally opened to the public. By the end of July, the Tequendama Falls were declared Cultural Heritage of the Region by a decree of the local Government. |
2018 After years of research, we published the book El Castillo de Bochica, la verdadera historia de la Casa del Salto de Tequendama (Engl. "The Castle of Bochica, the true history of the house of the Tequendama Falls"), in which we summarize the history of the house and present the actions carried out during its restoration. On September 18th, the Colombian Ministry of Culture declared the Tequendama House Museum as Cutural Asset of National Interest. Later in the year, we published the inventory of mammals of the El Porvenir Natural Reserve. |
